Silvy is a man who used victoriana photography to create striking images that portray everyday beauty. He was inspired - as am i -by french romantic poets such as Baudelaire and Rimbaud. His images were almost a visual representation of the same ideas.
I recently discovered that he would use seperate negatives layered together to make one image, similar to how the software photoshop works. I like the idea that what people see in a photograph they assume is real but by using seperate exposures and layering them up, you can create a fictional image.
